Dear friend,

Beyond grateful to share some insights about my creative field with you..

Working on international projects at the intersection of architectural design and wellbeing, with the years I’ve been building three pillars as a foundation of my creative universe :

1/ exploring the poetics and benefits of cork as an artisan
2/ designing wellbeing spaces
3/ guiding meditative gatherings

In this hectic world that repeatedly challenges our concentration and focus, my drive is to reflect on the importance to create contemplative atmospheres and experiences to integrate stillness into our daily lives.

My education was very intentional and purposeful. I started a master in communication in Antwerp, worked a few years as creative director in an international eventdesign agency, then decided to dive deeper in interior architecture at The Faydherbe Academy in Mechelen to close my master’s degree at Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

The first ten years of my creative growth, I spent developing in-depth experiences in scenography and event design, working for luxury brands like Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Chanel ... Loving the creative energy of the fashion industry, some elements became more and more disturbing like the unreasonable pace and the high amount of wasted materials in event production. These facts brought me towards a search for more solid ground and quietness.

In 2015, I participated in a vipassana retreat in Japan where I stayed ten days in complete silence, following the daily rituals of the buddhist monks. What I discovered there was the power of the ‘Ma’, the Japanese term for ‘pause in time’ or ‘emptiness of space’; a spiritual concept which strongly influenced my following path.

After a few years of research and development, I launched the brand Corkinho in 2017. Numerous trips to Portugal exploring the harvest and production of the material cork had offered me enough knowledge and stable relations to set out on an entrepreneurial quest of bringing this natural and healthy material into contemporary interiors. With its granular texture and warmth and its inherent sound absorption properties, cork would become the essential fundament to design calming interiors and noble objects.

As an interior architect, I explore the challenges of living in a fast paced society in which the speed of data overloads our lives where more and more is happening in a shorter time.

In response, I dedicated myself to create spaces called Still rooms. Still rooms embody an immersive design narrative that engage our senses and inspire us connect with stillness, slowness and calming harmony. In my creative approach, I start every project from a design manifesto which is influenced by sacred architecture, invite people to cultivate a deeper connection with their inner space.

The studio’s built environments and creations facilitates to profoundly indulge in quiet wellbeing and comfort.

My studio being based in the vibrant Harbour of Antwerp, I seek to honour simplicity and the art of grounding in the energetic field of presence.

This perspective seamlessly integrates the patina of time in dialogue with the emotional power of space, creating serene atmospheres where the modern human can reconnect with a deeper sense of alignment and inner calm.

From a personal desire to share insights on slow living and inner journeys related to holistic wellbeing, I recently founded a community brand called Beyond Zero. Presented at Art Basel in June 2026, my drive is to generate cultural platform by organizing meditative gatherings to share insights about silence, space and wellbeing.

With Beyond Zero, I guide ambient meditation through sound and artistic expression in one off scenic settings.

In addition, I curate energetic wellbeing programs to be implemented in the fields of hospitality and office environment, proposing tailor made rituals and inspiring insights to explore the benefits of mind stillness even further.

Today, stillness is at the heart of my creative drive.
And I truly hope to share a dialogue with you soon.

Feel free to connect.

With gratitude,

Cédric
